Today, we had to submit the final 2x brickboy. I did the 2x brickboy at home. I faced lots of difficulties!

The penknife kept slanting to the side again. I had to practice again before cutting. Somehow it did not came out nicely. My visualising skill is not that good. So, i had to take a long time to visual where to colour the correct colours, where exactly is the face and all that.

I used colour pencils to colour it, as i like colour pencils more. In between, my brother told me that painting will be nicer and faster. But it was too late. In the end, there's alot of white gap in between. I dont want to waste my time to redo and use painting. So, i used alot of force to colour, to make the white gap disappear. The result was not so bad.

I maked a colour mistake for the shoes. Both the shoes had two different colours. I took the wrong colour pencil to colour the other shoe. By the time i notice, it was quite late in the night. So i hope nobody will notice that. Haha!!

Glueing this brickboy is easier than the small brickboy, as it is much more bigger. I maked the hands of the brickboy the legs of Nobita, as i thought that hands that looked like cube is not that nice.

We had to present our own brickboy infront of all the students and lecturers. I did not say much, because i was too nervous. T.T The lecturers will then tell us what we need to improve on. Kelly said that its best if i make a hand for Nobita. Haha! Thats all for today.

I chose Doraemon initially, but because too many people is doing that, so the lecturer suggested that i do Nobita.

Before making the 2x bigger brickboy, we had to draw out the draft and let the lecturers see if it was alright. I had difficulties placing the parts of the brickboy. No matter how i placed it, it looks so wierd. I asked the lecturer and he said placed the bigger box on top to make Nobita's head big. He even showed me some samples of other people's brickboy. That was a good idea, as that will make Nobita looked cute.

So, i started to draw out the template. Once again, measuring accurately is so difficult. Some more, this time we had to multiply the length twice. I took a long time to draw, as i kept drawing it wrongly.

Finally, the template is done. The lesson has ended and we need to do the left over at home. Friday has to submit.

Drafts of the 2x bigger brickboy (Nobita). Its a bit dirty as i tried the colours on the draft.

On the first day of school, we are told to do drawings. We had to choose an object in the studio and draw. 4 drawings of the details of the object and four drawings of the interesting views of the object. We had 90mins for each part. I wasted alot of time choosing what i wanted to draw. In the end, i chose the monitor. Drawing is a challenging and difficult task for me, as i do not have any basic in drawing. Thats why while drawing the monitor, i had difficulties viewing the 3D views. In the end, the drawings doesn't not look like 3D.

After that, we need to pin up our work and vote for the best. As expected, nobody voted mine. T.T Before we go lunch, we get back our drawings.

After lunch, we went back to the same studio and the lecturers gave us a piece of brickboy template. I thought we just need to cut it out from the template and glue all the pieces together. But the lecturers told us not to cut the template. This means that we had to measure every part of the brickboy and draw the template on the drawing block ourself.

Measuring the template is quite tedious, as we need to be accurate. If not, the brickboy will not be in proportion. After drawing out the template, I started cutting. Lecturers said that designers are suppose to use penknife to cut. I can't control the penknife well and it kept slanting to the side even after using a ruler to guide me. This prevent me from cutting in a straight lines. But after more practices, i did it. I used UHU glue for all purposes to glue the parts together. My skill is not that good, therefore the brickboy does not look that nice in the end.

Before going home, we had to choose a character to do another brickboy, which is 2x bigger. I chose Doraemon. We still have to complete home activity after we reach home, and we need to submit it next Mon. Thats all for today.
