Today, we went to URA Centre and Ann Siang Hill. For my class, we went to the URA Centre first. And then Ann Siang Hill. At there, we are to observe and capture 20 images of the architectural elements and features of the place, and post it on the blog assigned to us. From this trip, I get to see alot of interesting things. Like for URA Centre, I get to see the huge model of Singapore and we can even find the block that we're living in.

My crit was on today. It's much more scarier than last term's crit. We had to present to 5 lecturers and some students. My presentation wasn't that good as I did not have any confident in it. Now only left the 20 pictures of Ann Siang Hill and the designing of emo furniture. After that, its HOLIDAY! :D

SUBMISSION TIME!!
Today, all of us submitted all the projects and assignments. Finally can take a good rest. But there's some more things for us to do. We need to design an emo furniture. And crit going to start soon. Wondering how will it be. Hmmm... Anyway, I'm glad that I've submitted all those work I need to submit. And hope my name isn't on the re-submission list.

After finish colouring the 16 tiles, I proceed on to the model. It ain't as easy as I thought. I faced some difficulties like the glue is not sticky enough that some of the pieces drop again and again. I had to hold it for a long time after I glued. Another difficulty is that for certain places, there's no connection and I need to add staircases to link them. Sometimes I can't even spot the places that has no connection. These are some of the pictures I took while doing the model, therefore it's a bit messy.

I finally finished colouring the 16 tiles :D
I tried using pencil to draw the patterns out first, but the markings cannot be seen. So, I drew the patterns out using a black marker. It works. After letting it dry for some time, I coloured the tiles using ZIG PAINTY MARKER. I faced a difficulty halfway through whereby the ink couldn't come out. So, I pulled the tip out and put it back the other way round.
Now, I will proceed on to sanding the materials and fixing the model.

There's a good news today. The submission of the final model has change to Friday instead of Monday. This means I can have more time to finish up my model. I spent the whole day in the workshop and finally finished cutting all the important parts for my model.

And again, I went to the workshop. This time, I focus more on the staircases, as the wall, planes and ceilings I've already cutted.
From the start of the class, I drew many different types of staircases on acrylic. After I've finished drawing, I went down to the workshop. There are many people in the workshop. Almost half of the people ain't from DID.
As there are too many people and the machines are limited, I settled down and drew more staircases again, cause I'm afraid that there's isn't enough and will have no time to cut. At the same time, I can wait for the people to cut finish so I will have the chance to use the machine.
Finally is my turn to use the machine. I used alot of time to finish up what I want to cut. And then, I sand it with the sanding machine.
Its time to go for CD lesson. After CD lesson, the workshop is going to close, so I didn't manage to have the time to contine cutting. I still think what I've cutted today will not be enough. So, I plan to cut more on Friday.

Its the first submission today. And there are two part of submission today. One of the submission is at 10am, which we need to submit drawing folio. The other submission is at 3pm, which we need to submit the Escher's relativity model, 16 templates, 3 tessellation drawings - colour, tone and pattern, 3 mock up models and 1 ZO cards mock up model. After the submission, I went to the workshop and cutted alot of patterns. There ain't alot of people there. I stayed in the workshop for very long that after I went out of the workshop, I felt that my ear is a bit strange, as the noise of the machine there is very loud.
When its around 2.45pm, I went back to the studio with my friends as the second part of the submission is reaching soon. After the second part of the submission has finished, we stayed in the studio for a while before going to the workshop again. This time, the workshop is full of people, and I need to wait for quite a long time before I got the chance to use the machine there.
In short, today is quite a tough day.

Its a short but busy day. I finally planned how to make my model. I enlarged my patterns into two times bigger. After that, I drew patterns on the wood and went to the workshop and cut. There's really a lot of people in the workshop. I waited a long time before I got the chance to use the machines there. I guess I have to go to the workshop as early as possible next time. Due to the experiences I had in the past few days when I went to the workshop and cut materials, I finally able to cut materials with not much problems. I've cutted out some samples today to try out my model. I've decided to use different kinds of thickness of wood to make my model look more interesting. We can stay in school till around 10pm next Mon, Wed and Fri. These three days will be a great chance for me to do my model.
